Tivoli fancied to record second victory
published: Monday | September 24, 2007

Former champions Tivoli are expected to continue their early -season good form when they face a less-experienced Innswood in ISSA/Pepsi/Digicel Manning Cup action at the Edward Seaga Stadium at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.

Following the disappointment of last season's early exit, a rejuvenated Tivoli, who will have a battle on their hands in what is expected to be a tightly contested Group A, are off to a decent start to the season, following a 1-1 draw against group favourites Jamaica College and a 4-0 thrashing of St. Mary's College in their second game.

In the group's other games, a confident St. Jago High, who have scored 14 goals in two games so far this season, will take on an experienced Waterford team.

Waterford, who put up a spirited challenge last season, will be hoping to shake off early season jitters following a 0-2 loss to Jamaica College (JC).

In the meantime JC must be thinking that they have three points in the bag before even the whistle blows to signal the start of their clash against an already battered St. Mary's College.

Over in Group E, zone favourites Charlie Smith will hope to get back on the ball following a surprise draw against Greater Portmore.

Camperdown will also be looking for three points when they host Denham Town at Vauxhall High School.

In the day's other game, Pembroke Hall will tackle Greater Portmore.
