The PNP's legacy
published: Monday | September 24, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WHILE WE welcome the new Government led by Mr. Bruce Golding into the office, alas, before he properly takes his seat, we must point out to him and his team "don't waste any time to say the People's National Party (PNP) mash up the country and we the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) have to build back". This is not the truth, in fact, if the PNP did mash up the country, there would be no legacy left to the extent that the first gesture of the incoming JLP government is to implement some socialist programmes such as free school, etc.

These were what Honourable N.W. Manley had in his heart and mind for the poor people of this country and he was only put off track by the capitalists of this country. So we are very glad to know we have one man, who is Mr. B. Golding who will go on with the will of N.W. Manley.

To this, we say full speed ahead, Mr. Golding, full speed and please remember our Lord Jesus was a friend of the poor and please sir, remember the damage done by Hurricane Dean, etc. Sir, we don't want to break your heart, but crime and violence - only God can stop it. However, don't lose heart; Jesus is still alive and in His own time, He will make an end of all evil all over the world. Unity is the way to go. God bless us all.

I am, etc.,
