Gaye McDonald taps into London's 'Pulse'
published: Sunday | September 23, 2007

After booking Cosmo on her first day in the international market, then nabbing 13 shows in her first season at New York Fashion Week, new Pulse star Gaye McDonald is the rage in London. The Luire covergirl has hit the runway for a dozen clients, despite getting to London after most of the castings and several of the shows were over.

Her London booker, Susannah of Next Management, describes her as 'fantastic!'

In addition to London Fashion Week clients such as Amanda Wakely, Felder Felder, Asprey and Fashion Fringe, Gaye has been selected for a trio of special Cartier shows. To add fuel to fire she is scheduled to shoot Harper's Bazaar next week in London, before heading to Paris where she has been specially requested for the Stella McCartney catwalk show.

Gaye won Pulse's Caribbean Model Search in 2005, at 16 years old, before completing high school. On graduation she headed for the international marketplace, only this March, where she immediately booked Cosmo. This was followed by the New York Times Sunday Magazine and a slew of other assignments, including Nordstrom.

While still in the Caribbean she shot the cover and several pages of Luire, one of Japan's top fashion magazines, as well as editorials for She Caribbean and Ocean Style. Her first major runway work was at this year's Caribbean Fashionweek.

Gaye was signed before even setting foot in the international market.
