The Editor, Sir:
In my opinion the People's National Party (PNP), once a noble and intellectual party, has descended into a combative and confused bunch. Norman Manley must now be turning in his grave. Instead of graciously accepting defeat and moving on to nation building, they are now threatening to become, in Portia's own words, a nightmare to the Government.
I see this as incongruous and disruptive to the nation's business. I even hear one of their members saying that they still intend to form the Government in this present scenario. This is indeed selfish and unpatriotic as it seems they intend to hold the country at ransom with this constant party power endeavour, forgetting the concept of national unity for progress. The country really needs a break now . According to history of this great institution ''the PNP'' I would never have thought that they would become so imperious and destructive to the nation at large. May God return them to sanity.
I am, etc.,
