Kraal cops on evidence planting charge get bail extension
published: Friday | September 14, 2007

The two policemen charged in connection with the planting of evidence at the crime scene at Kraal, Clarendon, on May 7, 2003, had their bail extended yesterday to return to court on December 5.

Detective Sergeant Dennis Ballin and Detective Corporal Terrence Tingling appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's court on Wednesday.

They were told to return yesterday for the court to be told when the notes of evidence or summation in the Kraal murder case would be available.

Prosecutors informed the court that the summation would be available before December 5.

The policemen were charged with accessory after the fact to murder, but that charged was withdrawn on Wednesday.

The policemen are now facing a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
