The company has remodelled three of 29 stores so far this year. - Contributed Courts Jamaica Limited, the country's leading furniture and appliance retail company, has refurbished its Brown's Town store in St. Ann, creating more display space for its stock.
Courts, which spent $8 million on the project, has done similar improvements to two other outlets in the 29-store chain.
The other two stores, including a branch in Christiana, Manchester, were also renovated, at a cost of $18 million, and reopened in April, Wednesday Business was advised.
UPGRADE
The Brown Town's store, which employs 17 people, was first opened in 1982. The store's 5,200 square-foot of space was reconfigured and the air-conditioning system upgraded. Courts said it had no immediate plans to expand the chain, whose annual sales top $6 billion.
The new investment in refittings follows the acquisition of the furniture company by the Siman family.
