Portmore win
published: Tuesday | August 28, 2007

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC):

Jamaica's Portmore United retained their Warriors Cup title when they overcame a determined 10-man Antigua & Barbuda national Under-23 team 2-0 in the final at the Antigua Recreation Ground (ARG) Sunday night.

Playing for the first time under the recently installed light at the famous ARG, the Jamaicans scored in the first-half through Steven Morrissey who converted in the 16th minute.

Eric Vernon, voted the best young player, sealed Portmore's victory with four minutes remaining. Portmore's Dwayne Kerr, who did not concede a goal in his three matches in the tournament, was named goalkeeper of the tournament and his teammate, Anthony Modeste, defender of the tournament.
