Help from music?
published: Friday | August 24, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

Hurricane Dean has caused some problems, so now we have to solve whatever problems we can and rebuild. OK, Food For the Poor decides to help, T&T, Red Cross and others as well. Let's say that most of the relief effort helps those that really need it, even though we're not sure if the majority can be helped solely by these outstanding groups. Who will help the balance of the people needing help? Maybe those with relatives overseas will get some help, maybe those who are really independent and true fighters will help themselves via the help of God.

However, I think some of the entertainers of Jamaica are going to give assistance; entertainers like Sizzla, Sean Paul, Capleton, Mutabaruka, Beenie Man, Shaggy, Buju Banton, the Marley family, and the list goes on. Who said music isn't vital to the Jamaican economy?

I am, etc.,
