The Editor, Sir:
Whoever will be the leader in Jamaica to take us into a half century of independence, will need to resolve the issue of the family. The family is the single most important element to our survival as a sovereign nation, independent and capable of providing for all our citizens, opportunities for development of our human potential.
To that end, every effort must be made to provide support for resources available to our human resources within Jamaica, maximising the relationship for a sustainable coexistence. To start this, our leaders must commit to education while balancing the need for an income against the need for family. A positive idea shared by all is more powerful than all the money in the world, and is in the words of an advertising slogan 'priceless'.
May this 'idea' of family take on the role of 'Out of Many one people', and may our sons and daughters never have to wait to be told they are beautiful, intelligent and bold by others, before we assure them of that ourselves.
Can I get an 'Amen' from any politician running for office?
I am, etc.,
