Ernest Moodie describes his wife Grace Ann as a complete woman.
Grace Ann Marie Soutar first met her husband Ernest George Moodie over 34 years ago. They met when they both attended St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Vineyard Town.
At the time he was an innocen boy. They became very good friends but he later emigrated to England.
"I got married and he also got married but our friendship continued and we respected each other's position. He would call, and whenever he visited Jamaica, we sometimes had lunch," she explained.
"While I was going through my divorce, I received a letter from him saying he knew of my pending divorce and he was also going through the same thing. He stated that he was willing to leave England and come home. He did exactly that.
"After the dust settled, we continued to keep in touch and have been close for the past 10 years. My best Christmas present was on Christmas day in 2006, when he asked me to marry him. I was overjoyed, delighted, breathless and on cloud nine. I thought he would never ask. He suggested that we get married around the time of our birthdays since we were both Cancerians.
"He is my friend, lover and husband. He is a kind individual, and romantic in his own way. He is reserved, down to earth and loves nature. He is very simple and not a fussy person. He is not one to quarrel as he makes love, not war."
Moodie notes that his wife has been his friend for the longest number of years. "I have known my wife as a friend much longer than anyone else." He speaks of her as being warm, caring and loving. "She knows me more than anyone." He notes that she understands everything about him that makes him very comfortable. He says she is the complete woman.
They exchanged vows on July 7, 2007 at Cooper's Hill, St. Andrew. Officiating was Silvera Castro, civil registrar of marriages.
