Junior Kadooment in Barbados

Colour galore! This exquisite piece typifies the beauty that is Junior Kadooment.

The Gleaner brings you highlights of the recent Junior Kadooment in St. Michaels, Barbados as part of the island's Crop Over festivities.

Ten bands participated in the march and paraded before 14 judges. The participating bands included Renée Ratcliffe's 'Alice In Wonderland', St. Phillip's Primary School's 'Water - The Source Of Life', Bush Hall Masqueraders 2K7's 'Topics Of Barbados 100', Reggie Cave Kadooment Band - 'The Legend Of Rachel Pringle', Lawrence T. Gay Memorial School's 'Looka De Food', and Carrington's Primary 'Yuh See We Come From De Sea'.

Categories included: historical, fantasy, topical, folklore, community and environmental.
