THE EDITOR, Sir:
I JUST visited Jamaica for four days to attend my younger brother's wedding. I have to say that after migrating to the United States for just two years, a lot of changes have been made.
I was a resident of Portmore and used the toll road it looks very beautiful, I resent the fact that a toll is being collected via the Causeway exit to Kingston. Also, there are a lot more youths on the corners now saying they can't get any work (they just hang out and beg). There are also several lucrative sex businesses established across Jamaica, as the females say they too leave school and can't get any work (there's the go-gos, the massage parlours and a lot of hookers).
I can't believe that things have got so badly so quickly. I read online about the violence and murders, but I never expected to see so many youths between 16 and 30 just wasting their life away. What is this Government doing? My country needs help. It hurts me to the core of my heart to see how badly Jamaicans are living and the desperation that is on so many people's faces. I hope a message will be sent this coming election to the ruling party that they have made my people suffer too much. We need a change.
I am, etc.,
