Call for Seaga
published: Thursday | August 2, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir:

WITH JUST under four weeks prior to the general election, it is my belief that if the Jamaica Labour Party wants to win this election, it has to invite its former leader Edward Seaga to participate in the campaigning. The party needs to remember that a percentage of Labourites are still upset as to how Mr. Seaga was treated by the party during his descent from the party. As a result of this, there is the presumption that they may not vote for the party or remain stagnant.

Mr. Golding, you need to remember that unity is strength, and based on the fact that your party is behind in the polls, there is no doubt that Seaga's intervention at this crucial time would greatly enhance the chances of winning the election. Just like he called on you when he needed you in the last general election, now is the opportune time to call on him because you need him.

I am, etc.,
