A prophecy from Canada
published: Friday | July 27, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

Portia Simpson Miller is without doubt a very beautiful human being. However, I have one problem with her - she is being used to perpetrate a crime against the Jamaican people. P.J. Patterson (the current PNP unofficial leader), and all the other 'wannabe' leaders in the PNP, realised two years ago that they had no chance of winning another election. Therefore, they used Portia, being the most popular politician since Michael Manley, to continue the onslaught of poverty, crime and depravation of the Jamaican people. In 18 years, the only growth Jamaica has experienced is in the area of crime.

In my adopted country, Canada, the PNP would not have survived this long, because here, people vote based on issues. There are opportunities for all regardlessof which party you voted for. Health care, education and jobs are available to all here in Canada. The PNP survived in Jamaica because the majority of the people are kept dependent, poor and believing the trickery of a corrupted government who believes it is their right to run Jamaica forever. In the name of democracy, the Jamaican people need to use the power of their votes to reject this stupidity.

'Fool-fool' argument

Think about it - if after 18 years all you can tell us about is the number 7, and the 'fool-fool' argument about being appointed by God, then you really meant that you 'not changing course'. Why is it that God did not use you in the last 18 years to make Jamaica better? Why suddenly now you are appointed? It's just another way of continuing the PNP's fiasco.

The Jamaica Labour Party will win the next election ... I can feel it in my bones! Dr. Phinn, eat your heart out ... I am the Canadian Prophet!

I am, etc.,

MICHAEL 'Prophet' ORRETT
