The stress of politics
published: Thursday | July 12, 2007

Another one bites the dust! History is replete with failed marriages because of the stress of politics and right now there is another one to be added to the list. In this recent case, the much-talked about cuckold could stand it no more; he had become the butt of too many jokes and he decided to walk. The straw that broke the camel's back came about when the politicking spouse started a new liaison with a party colleague. Well, enough is enough said the long-suffering one. There are many reasons why August 27 will be critical to this couple.

Accommodation

It was a marriage of accommodation. The wife decided she liked the life in south Florida and the husband simply adored living on the rock. So, off she went and she was showered with enough money to buy her any little thing the heart desired. But when she discovered that the little lady back here had acquired her dream Mercedes-Benz, she decided she needed to be closer to the family assets. So guess who is back on the rock? The husband is not too happy but since they are both accommodating people they will each grin and bear it.

Car thief

My friend is convinced that car thieves are getting valuable tuition in the art of stealing motor vehicles. Scores of motor vehicles are being stolen from shopping malls, hospital compounds, homes, churches etc., yet very few are ever recovered. So where are these vehicles going? Some say to Haiti via Miami. One may laugh at this suggestion, but it appears that there is a special place that stolen vehicles go to where they consistently elude the police. One man who was held up and his SUV stolen says he is taking a trip to Port-au-Prince to check out the scene. We anxiously await his findings.

Did you get a call?

If you have not got a call about funding then you are simply a person of straw. Frenetic activity is going on as the King Maker seeks to ensure that the horse is victorious. One way to do this is to starve the foe while feeding the friend. It's the season when big bucks will talk. More anon.
