GUYANA - PNC/R condemns alleged terrorist plot
published: Thursday | June 7, 2007

GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC):

The main opposition People's National Congress Reform (PNC/R) has condemned alleged plans by three Guyana-born nationals, including a former party member, who have been implicated in a plot to blow up the JFK International Airport in New York.

"We were unreserved in our condemnation of the terrorist activities of September 11 and are unrelenting in our support for the elimination of such threats to security, whether national or international," PNC/R leader Robert Corbin told a news conference.

However, Corbin, a West Indian-trained lawyer, maintained that the three local suspects, including former Linden Mayor and PNC legislator Abdul Kadir, as well as Abul Nur and the US-based Russell Mortimer De Freitas must be given "a fair trial and the investigations must be without prejudice.
