Think about the children's future
published: Tuesday | May 15, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

It is amazing to me that the political parties of today are still practising the same style of politics which was pursued by their predecessors. They lack originality and basic debating skills, as is evident by the many tracing matches that they continue to engage in on the campaign trail.

Common decency and respect for each other are important requirements when we examine and search as a people for the next leader of Jamaica. Name calling, 'Satan and Jezebel', does not for a good debate make.

Political leaders, let me suggest to you that it would suit all of you to debate on the issues that are affecting this country and its citizens and come up with solutions that will benefit us all.

Mr. Golding, it would suit you and the members of your party to refrain from this style of childish name calling and to continue to reveal the mishappenings of the Prime Minister and her team. God knows, Jamaica needs a break and someone with a level head to lead us into the future. If our children won't benefit, maybe our great grandchildren will!

I am, etc.,
