Stop the killing
published: Monday | April 16, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I am a Jamaican living in England. I have lived in England since I was 10 years old. I have never been back to Jamaica, Clarendon. However I have been considering a visit very soon, but after reading about all this killing in my little island, how can I return to all that danger, worrying about what my own people might do to me for a few dollars?

It's bad enough for me in racist England, worrying about what the white racist might do to me. I should not have to worry about what my own Jamaicans might do to me while I am visiting my beloved island.

Wake up, Jamaicans and stop killing your own people. The white man has killed too many of us in history for us to be killing each other, sometimes for nothing.

I am, etc.,
