Peek-a-boo!
published: Monday | April 16, 2007

The patent leather peep-toe pumps are the pice de rsistance of this fiery outfit.

Tesi Johnson, Gleaner Writer

I see you! And if toes could talk, they'd probably utter the playful phrase as they peep through that alluring little cut-out which characterises the peep-toe shoe.

Nowadays most shoe styles have'snipped the tip' and jazzed up the design. Wedges, slingbacks, platforms, flats and pumps, of course, are just some of the shoe variations that sometimes show a little toe.

Peep-toes are great. You can safely wear your peep-toes to work and look professional while showing off your pedicure! Maybe that means that a woman who was tired of chipping her nail polish invented the shoe, or was it a man with a foot fetish? Regardless, that tiny window at the tip of the shoe gives a reason to feel feminine and sexy, as the peep-toe style is undeniably feminine, coy and flirty, without coming on too strong.

Adrienne, the fashion-savvy boutique at the Hilton hotel, New Kingston, has a comprehensive collection of Stuart Weitzman peep-toe pumps, flats and platforms. Flair visited the boutique where owner Veronica Stokes treated us to the near orgasmic experience of fitting and photographing the shoes, and also showed how that style of shoe can be worked into the spring wardrobe.
