I read your article and found it so true as I am a victim myself. Just last Wednesday, I was hit with a board under my 'foot bottom' which affected up to my knee. I was punched in the mouth, given several blows to the body, bitten at least six times on my arm, chest, shoulder and neck and I still did not hit her.
We struggled for hours ... with me trying to take the knife from her. When she was overpowered, she ran for another, overpowered again, she ran for the scissors. I know what I am capable of doing, but because of my kids I had to think twice. I have lost the love for her, I am unhappy etc., but well, I guess it boils down to nowhere to go, so I stay in this relationship being verbally and physically abused. Keep up the good work.

I'm filming a documentary on male victims of domestic abuse and how unfairly we are being treated. I saw your article and think that you have an interesting point of view. Each time the police come to my home, I am treated as if I should just take the abuse and not report it or waste their time, as one officer called it. How can this be fair? In a society today of equality, why does this double standard still exist?

Very interesting article but as horrific as some of these women are, Jamaican women are still the best, you know that. I've been in the United States since 1985, and my experience has shown that. Bring the Jamaican woman any day.

Well done! You addressed the issue of cooking oil being 'out' and roasting/baking meats 'in'. My friend in Hanover is taking meds for elevated blood pressure and continues to eat the national dish, ackee with saltfish fried in oil. I think a major step in the battle to win against heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure comes from information against the 'traditional' dishes prepared in 'traditional' ways. Hoorah for your advice. Take it to the radio and television.
