'Sara was the ideal role model for my daughter'
published: Saturday | March 24, 2007

Jah Foresight, Contributor

This has been a week of scandals. Every story has a mysterious twist and the public has lapped it up. One of the stories that I did not want to revisit was the situation with 'Her Majesty' Queen Sara. It is real sad when a person becomes a public figure. All privacy is generally taken away from you and sometimes you are butchered by critics.

I love Sara. She looks like me and she could be my sister. She is not a browning or half-white or pink. Our beauty pageants are generally influenced by Eurocentric norms. This is where I feel the hurt. Some people will say, "Nothing too black is not good". She was the ideal role model for my little daughter.

A lady gave me the list of all the different types of contraceptives that she could use. She did not mention anything about the man. She gave me a lecture on the bastardisation of the population since the 1970s. She abhors the term 'baby mother' or 'baby father'. She asked me when was the last time that I was invited to a wedding. That was a long time ago. One year, I was the master of ceremonies for about 15 weddings. She feels that my special lady as the princess of the Caribbean should be arranging her wedding with a list of social climbers longer than that of Beenie Man and D'Angel.

Mystery man

This discussion is also focusing on the mystery man. I can tell you that for the next few months the scandal columns and the verandah talk are going to search him out. Sara stated that she is protecting her man, but is her man protecting her? If I were her father, a lot of bad words would have been flowing like the Rio Cobre. How many daddies have ever had Miss Jamaica as a daughter? I do not care if she is 22 or 32.

If this young man has integrity and courage, he should stand beside and behind her and be proud of her and the unborn child. Sara is our princess and he is now a public figure by association.

My wife and I went to the plaza the other day and she gave my baby son to a friend of hers to hold while I was in the line. The baby was uneasy and started to cry. I had never been introduced to the other woman. This woman then started to shout in the supermarket for the baby father. I DID NOT EVEN ANSWER. When my queen returned, she explained her problem. I replied as loudly as possible that I am not a baby father, but a husband, with ring and all. Young man, please propose to Sara and don't break my little daughter's heart.

Who killed Bob?

This type of death comes in threes. Who killed Cock Robin? I am concerned about the death of Coach Woolmer. Was Bob, a white man, a Moslem? Was he seen as an infidel? The better team (Ireland) on the day won and it was just destiny. Woolmer's killer was no stranger to him. My prayer goes out to his family and I hope everyone now understands why visas were necessary for the World Cup.

The lotto jackpot is a whopping $85 million. I think we will feel the real fever this weekend. Currently, cricket is a distraction. This is one of the highest jackpots for a very long time. The numbers for last Wednesday were 6 (lion, royalty.iron), 7 (widow, married woman, stockings), 15 (rat, kiss), 19 (silver, feather), 26 (white man, officials, chief), 36 (old lady, donkey) and bonus ball of 24. The consecutive numbers were 6 and 7. I would play with number 26 in the upcoming draw. Meanwhile, the numbers on Saturday were 1, 6, 10, 21, 30, 31 and the bonus number, 11.

People were complaining about drought. Jah has brought some rain in these dry months. Let us all give thanks.
