Eltham, JC qualify for final
published: Tuesday | March 20, 2007

Two-time defending champions Eltham High will face Jamaica College (JC) in the April 3-5 Grace Shield Premier League final.

Both teams booked their spots with mixed results on Friday.

Eltham defeated Jonathan Grant by an innings and 35 runs at Eltham High School Ground.

The hosts scored 181 before dismissing neighbours Jonathan Grant for 59 in their first innings and 87 in their second turn at bat.

Schacoya Thomas led the batting for Eltham with 37, but it was Frederick Hermit with 7-29, which earned him a match-haul of 12-45 following his five-timer in the first innings which handed them the match.

Meanwhile, JC, who were dismissed for 195, rallied to bowl out Kingston College for 170, which gave them the important first innings points.

Elisha Ellis led the way for KC with 43 against Lushanne South (4-25) and Elvis Watson (4-52).

Batting a second time, JC reached 105-5, with Mardio Grandston unbeaten on 34.
