MOTOR VEHICLE owners living in the designated blue zone around Sabina Park are failing to collect access passes speedily enough, according to officials of the Local Organising Committee (LOC).

Just over 60 per cent of applicants had collected passes at press time on yesterday's final announced day of issuing.

The passes allow persons who live or work in the blue zone to gain access to affected roads leading to their homes and businesses during match days.

Manager of Logistics and Operations at the LOC, Lisa O'Gilvie, has said that the distribution period will be extended to ensure travel in the affected communities is hassle free. In the same vein, however, she said it was important that people who have registered for vehicular access to the area pick up their stickered passes.

"I am making an appeal to persons to pick up their passes so as to avoid congestion on those days," Ms. O'Gilvie said.

Distribution of passes

Distribution of access passes has been taking place at the Salvation Army Church on Prince of Wales Street, Allman Town, since last Thursday.

Meanwhile, persons who work in affected areas need not turn up for their passes as representatives from the various businesses have begun collecting them for mass distribution.

ON ICC Cricket World Cup match days, the following Kingston roads will be affected and vehicular traffic will be restricted to persons who have justifiable reasons to traverse them.
