Helping the disabled
published: Tuesday | March 6, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

Let me express thanks to the National Water Commission (NWC) and its contractors, especially Mr. Courtney Laws, for granting the request from Senator Morris and the Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities in speedily erecting ramps on the commission's section of Mares-caux Road in Cross Roads, Kingston.

Goodwill still exist

Sir, this kind of response from the NWC and Mr. Laws, and his team shows that goodwill still exist. It is the council's desire to see all the roadways in Kingston and other urban areas wheelchair-friendly and of course disabled-friendly.

Hats off to Senator Morris for promoting the Friendly City drive, not just for Cricket World Cup, but for the posterity of Jamaica land we love.

Senator Morris has seen the beauty of this country as well as the people, thus his concern for full accessibility for all.

I am, etc.,

RANSFORD WRIGHT

Executive Director
