Carmen Tipling, corporate communications executive at the Jamaica National Building Society, recently demitted office as head of the Jamaica Information Service. She brings to the package a wealth of information in media, public relations and communications.

Audrey Hinchcliffe has often been described as the "queen of clean," and is the head of Manpower and Maintenance Services. She holds the distinction of moving up through the ranks of the nursing and public health administration professions in Jamaica, the Caribbean and the United States of America.

Audrey Marks is an entrepreneur whose vision gave Jamaica its first multi-service bill payments chain - Paymaster Jamaica Limited. She, like many Flair readers, juggles the challenges of being a wife, running a business and motherhood.

Sara Lawrence, the 'baby' of the group, is the reigning Miss Jamaica World. She has taken time away from studies to carry out her duties as queen, but has found a passion in service to the less fortunate, particularly children left orphaned by AIDS.

Jean Lowrie-Chin is at the top of her game in the field of public relations. She heads Pro Communications and, along with her husband, commands the respect of companies that want their brands and message to be household words. She also holds the distinction of having started Flair Magazine over 21 years ago.

Yvonne Grinam-Nicholson is also a past Flair editor, who is now having the time of her life. She's leaving her job at the Jamaica Stock Exchange to launch her own business, ROCommunications (Jamaica). Married to a politician, she brings a unique perspective to the product.

As you turn the pages of this week's Flair, we hope you will find these women's perspectives as interesting as we found them during the planning stages.

international Women's Day presents a perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Jamaican women. And to do that, Flair sought the assistance of six guest editors: Carmen Tipling, Audrey Hinchcliffe, Audrey Marks, Sara Lawrence, Jean Lowrie-Chin and Yvonne Grinam.
