The Devonshire was turned into a mini art gallery on Friday as artist Katrina Abrahams exhibited her latest work.

Thirty-four pieces were on show and guests did not hesitate to make their purchases. Abrahams, a born-again Christian, says her relationship with the Lord is her inspiration on a whole.

"I'm also very stimulated by what I see and feel. Like most artistes, I'm led by my emotions," she explained. She cited the wonders of nature, including scenes of the countryside and flowers, as other triggers for her creativity. Such scenes were very present in some of her pieces. This was her seventh sole exhibition after she formally started painting in 2001. Her works include oil paintings, mixed media and acrylic works on canvas.

Proud papa

Other than art lovers and collectors, she also had family present, including father Michael Abrahams, who was a proud papa indeed.

"I remember when she started out. Now she's grown and you can see her diversifying. I don't know where she got it (the talent) from though," he joked. His daughter joked back. "From Mommy, you should know that."

Food from Livity Restaurant, including ackee dip with pita bread pieces and veggie balls. They also sipped on Two Oceans wine and softer drinks, especially for younger audience.

Guests included Raymond Mair, Hugh and Ouida Dunphy, Michael Edwards and Candy Butler.
