The Editor, Sir:
One would have hoped that the Prime Minister would begin to seriously address Jamaica's problems. Instead, I, and other Jamaicans, are nauseated by almost daily doses of tracing. I need to know what is going to be done about the injustice of a Portmore toll road. I am now subjected to severe traffic congestion on my way to Kingston for work. I am very angry with the situation the government has forced many of the Portmore residents into. I am now paying a toll to be stuck in hour-long traffic jams.
I also want to know what will be done with the ramshackle of an education system that we have. How over 70 per cent of our high schoolers could be leaving without a single CXC is beyond me. How do we expect the country to experience long-term and sustained development if this reprehensible statistic remains true?
Madam Prime Minister, you need to touch base with the real problems faced by the country. If you know you cannot manage these problems, simply call an election and give Mr. Golding and his team a try. Your Government has certainly gotten a very long time to do something.
I am, etc.,
