TVJ's ER to debut in UK
published: Sunday | September 17, 2006

Television Jamaica (TVJ), a member of the RJR Communications Group, has licensed its entertainment programmes, Entertainment Report (ER) and ER2, for broadcast on British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) television network in the United Kingdom, starting in October. ER and ER2 are produced by TVJ's Anthony Miller and a TVJ production team. BSkyB network is a leading provider of entertainment, news, sports and movies in the U.K. and Ireland. The network is distributed in almost 10 million U.K. households, including five million digital satellite subscribers. BSkyB is controlled by 35 per cent shareholder News Corporation, which is chaired by Rupert Murdoch.

General market audiences

Television Jamaica General Manager Kay Osborne said, "For years, Jamaican television stations have purchased overseas programmes but never exported programmes for general market audiences. This deal changes that. It's part of TVJ's strategy to expand outside of Jamaica by targeting international audiences who are interested in Jamaican culture. The deal confirms that TVJ produces world-class television programmes. We're very proud of producer Anthony Miller's work and the TVJ production teams for ER and ER2. They consistently produce smart, compelling, cutting edge material with excellent production values."
