Among those attending last year's Pineapple Ball at the Ritz-Carlton Golf and Spa Resort were (from Left) Kevin Fray, Elaine McKenzie Billie and Robert Clarke, Paul Hurlock and Jackie Dorcey.

Historic Rose Hall Great House will once again be the venue for the sixth Pineapple Ball hosted by the Jamaica Committee, a U.S.-based charity, whose entire reason for being is to better the lives of the people of Jamaica.

In collaboration with Michele Rollins, owner of Rose Hall Great House and the Ritz-Carlton Golf and Spa Resort, the Jamaica Committee invites patrons to enjoy a magical Jamaican evening under the stars on November 4.

Profits from Pineapple Ball 2005 permitted the Jamaica Committee to distribute over US$40,000 to very needy Jamaican charities and organisations including Peace and Love in Society (PALS), S.O.S. Village and the Jamaica Epilepsy Foundation and many institutions and organisations which would not have the ability to attract much- needed financial assistance.

At Pineapple Ball 2006, patrons will again, "enjoy making good things happen" (the committee's slogan). They will dance to the sounds of the Bare Essentials band; dine on a full-course meal with Ritz flair; laugh and sing with entertainer, A.J. Brown, and mingle with local personalities and foreign guests. The gala will also feature a silent auction where patrons can purchase the works of Jamaican artists and craftsmen, as well as Jamaican and international resort vacations, restaurant meals, jewellery and other items.

Minimum donation is US$150 per person for the all-inclusive evening beginning at 6:30 p.m., with sunset cocktails.
