published: Monday | September 11, 2006

Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer

Spanish Town, St. Catherine:

The family of murdered Police Constable Richard Taylor has been forced to flee their home in Duxes, Point Hill, St. Catherine, due to death threats.

Constable Taylor's body was found in a hole near the Worthy Park Sugar Estate in St. Catherine on Saturday, days after he was reported missing.

The body had what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the forehead and a slash to the throat.

Death threats.

Yesterday, a Gleaner reporter visited the community of Duxes where several residents reported that members of Constable Taylor's family had been receiving death threats.

The Spanish Town police confirmed the death threats and reported yesterday that the matter was being investigated.

Meanwhile, Duxes residents are still in shock.

"Mi caan believe dat dem really kill him like dat," lamented one resident who identified himself as Donald.

Up to yesterday, the police were still questioning three persons who were taken into custody in connection with the death of their colleague.
