UNITED STATES: Rice says US safer since 9/11
WASHINGTON (AP): The United States is safer now than it was before the September 11, 2001 attacks, but must not relent in fighting terrorism in Iraq and elsewhere, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said yesterday.

HAMILTON (Reuters): Bermuda's govern-ment told residents to prepare for powerful winds and high seas yesterday as Hurricane Florence headed toward the British Atlantic territory and looked poised to strengthen.
