JUTC Portmore route changes
published: Sunday | July 16, 2006

THE JAMAICA Urban Transist Company (JUTC) has made some route changes in light of the opening of the Portmore toll road.

Starting tomorrow, the following routes will use the causeway to enter and leave Portmore at all times:

Routes 1, 1A, 4, 8, 8A, 12, 12A, 16, 17Ax, 18, 18A, 19A, 20.

Routes 3, 3A, 17, 17A and 20A will continue to use the Mandela Highway from Mondays to Fridays from 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. These routes will use the causeway during off-peak hours and weekends.

Passengers should note that neither route numbers, origins nor destinations will change on any route. They should also note that when leaving Portmore:

  • The last bus stop exiting Portmore before the causeway is on Dawkins Drive.

  • The first bus stop after the Causeway going to Half-Way Tree is just after the railway line on Marcus Garvey Drive (beside CMP).

  • The first bus stop after the causeway going downtown is on Marcus Garvey Drive beside the Tinson Pen Aerodrome.

    Bus stops entering Portmore are:

  • The first bus stop after the causeway is at the Portmore Mall layby.

  • The last bus stop coming from downtown is on Marcus Garvey Drive before reaching 9th Avenue, Kingston Wharf.

  • The last bus stop coming from Half-Way Tree is at the corner of Marcus Garvey Drive and Ashenheim Road.

Commuters who have any queries with regards to their routes can contact our toll free number at 1-888-588-2287.
