WEST INDIES captain Brian Lara has challenged the groundsmen at Sabina Park to prepare a result pitch for the fourth and final Test against India starting Friday.
The previous three Tests, which were played at the Antigua Recreation Ground in Antigua, Beausejour Stadium in St. Lucia and Warner Park, St. Kitts, ended in draws.
Lara, who arrived with the same 13-man squad that was present for the third Test in St. Kitts, said another draw would be unacceptable.
"I just hope that the groundsmen can test the ability of the cricketers, test their skill level, and make it (game) exciting," Lara told reporters on his arrival at the Norman Manley International Airport yesterday.
India coach Greg Chappell shares Lara sentiments.
"We expect a good sporting wicket, which will offer a good contest between bat and ball," Chappell, a former Australia player, said.
The India coach also said he wants a pitch that "will give the pace bowlers some help early in the game, and probably the spinners later in the game".
