'Zekes' murder trial adjourned early
published: Wednesday | April 5, 2006

PHIPPS

THE SUDDEN illness yesterday morning of presiding Judge Horace Marsh resulted in an early adjournment of the murder trial of Matthews Lane resident Donald 'Zekes' Phipps.

Mr. Marsh complained of feeling ill shortly after the case was adjourned at 11:45 a.m. for jurors to have their refreshment.

When the jurors returned to court at mid-day, they were told to return at 2:00 p.m. At that time, they were advised to return at 10:00 a.m. today because the judge was still unavailable.

Phipps has been on trial in the Home Circuit Court since March 6. He is charged with the murder of Rodney Leroy Farquharson and Dayton Williams, both of Bayshore Park in eastern Kingston.
