Crown presents main witness in Zekes trial
published: Thursday | March 9, 2006

THE JURY heard evidence yesterday from the main prosecution witness on whom the Crown is relying to establish its case against well-known Matthews Lane resident 48-year-old Donald 'Zekes' Phipps.

Phipps is charged jointly with 33-year-old Garfield Williams, farmer of St. Thomas, for the murder of Rodney Leroy Farquharson and Dayton Williams, both of Bayshore Park, eastern Kingston .

The burnt bodies of the two men were discovered on April 15 last year in an open lot at Rose Lane near Matthews Lane, downtown Kingston. The bodies had gunshot wounds to the head.

Four witnesses have so far testified at the trial which began in the Home Circuit Court on Monday.

Justice Horace Marsh is presiding at the trial.
