MAJOR FINANCIAL house, Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB), recently paid $40 million to purchase a property on Knutsford Boulevard to which its St. Lucia Avenue branch has been relocated.
The three story property, covering some 7,000 square feet is located at 11 Knutsford Boulevard, between National Commercial Bank's 1-7 Knutsford Boulevard branch and the fast food restaurant, Tastees.
In a press release issued Friday, JMMB said the move to the heart of New Kingston's business district is aimed at satisfying the needs of its customers, while providing superior service. The relocation exercise was completed last Thursday.
The new building will also be home to JMMB Securities Limited after the company relocates later this month.
GREATER CONVENIENCE
According to branch manager Fornia Young, "The new location provides far greater convenience and increased access to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. In addition this move signifies increased speed in terms of service delivery for JMMB clients, in that all their transactions and financial needs will be met in one location, while previously the St. Lucia branch had two separate offices in the Island Life Mall."
Young was enthusiastic on the move. "I look forward to welcoming our clients into our new home. This is great positioning for our company as it will will continue to enhance the visibility of JMMB, propelling us even further ahead as the leading brokerage house in Jamaica."
Regarding the issue of parking in New Kingston, the branch manager noted, "Parking is available for clients in the KSAC parking lot behind the building ...[the lot] facing the Island Life Mall." And, for persons concerned about the vagrants on Knutsford Boulevard, Young gave the assurance that "We will be increasing our security in and around the premises as the safety of our clients and the JMMB team is extremely important to us [and] as always with JMMB, stringent security measures are provided on location."
