Ernie Smith brings the 'Pitta patta'.

THE JAMAICA Cultural Development Commission's (JCDC) 2006 Bob Marley celebrations climaxed on Monday, February 6, at Addison Park in St. Ann, the reggae king's parish of birth.

A huge crowd turned out for the free concert, which featured Everton Blender, Fantan Mojah, Ernie Smith, Cherry Natural, Conrad Crystal, Gyptian and others.

The JCDC's week of Bob Marley 61st birthday celebrations began on Wednesday, February 1, with a symposium at the Louise Bennett Garden Theatre in Kingston, lawyer Miguel Lorne and university lecturer Cecil Gutzmore being among the presenters.

The theme for the discussions was 'Positive Vibrations'.

The second symposium in the discussion series was at the Cecil Charlton Hall in Mandeville, Manchester, on Thursday, February 2, and Rusea's High School in Hanover hosting the third the following day.

On the final day of the activities, February 6, the symposium took place at St. Hilda's High School in Brown's Town, St. Ann.
