THE EDITOR, Sir:
THE JAMAICA Labour Party ought to be having a field day putting together its election campaign advertisements with clips and sound bites of Dr. Peter Phillips, Portia Simpson Miller and K.D. Knight, as they fight to bury the PNP in a deeper and deeper hole.
When exactly did Dr. Peter Phillips realise that the youths of Jamaica are unemployed and are badly in need of employment? After 16 years of his party being in power, this is the progress to which the voters were told to log on to in 2002?
Portia Simpson Miller is now concerned about the 1,700 persons who were murdered in 2005. Has she realised that over 14,000 persons have been murdered since 1989, which incidentally is more people than voted for her in any election?
Are they now saying it's P.J. Patterson's fault, and the voters were foolish to vote for him on three occasions? Are they telling us that they had these brilliant ideas in their heads all along, but refused to share them with the Prime Minister and their cabinet colleagues, because they were not the Prime Minister?
They came in together, they should all go out together; it's now time for Bruce Golding and the JLP to bring fresh ideas to Jamaica's many problems.
I am, etc.,
GEORGE BROWN
