ARNETT GARDENS comfortably outplayed Boys' Town to emerge 2-0 winners of the Jamaica Football Federation Under-21 League in the second End-of-Round final at the National Stadium yesterday.

It was a satisfying victory for Arnett coach Michael Tulloch, one he believes is fully deserved.

"The Under-21s have been doing well, especially since the second round and this is just a testament to the hard work that they've put in to reach this stage," he stated.

"It was good to win and especially being a Collie Smith Drive derby, there are bragging rights. We definitely feel good to be the better team at this point," he said.

Davion Foster put Arnett Gardens ahead right on the stroke of half time, when he side-footed a volley off a well-weighted Horace Sharpe cross.

AGGRESSIVE PLAY

Though Boys' Town started the second half the more aggressive of the two teams, Khouri Pickersgill put the game away for the Junglists when he looped a curling free-kick over the wall and past Boys' Town custodian Marvin Mundy, who could only watch the ball crash unto the underside of the crossbar and into the back of the net.

Despite the loss, Boys' Town's coach Perry Bailey was proud of his team's effort.

"I'm not really disappointed. To tell you the truth, we are a new team and this is an achievement for us. We never put away our goals and at the end of the day, they took their two goals," he remarked.

"We have lost this End-of-Round final but we are going for the league and we are still a very confident team," he said.

Arnett Gardens were presented with the Digicel Trophy and $75,000, while Boys' Town were the recipients of $40,000 as the runner-up team.
