Address the health services
published: Monday | January 9, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I JUST read with utmost dismay, in the December 29 edition, about the conditions of the health services in Westmoreland in general and Negril specifically. The absurdity of not having an ambulance, or no working one since October, is simply beyond comprehension! Let's not play the blame game, however. After all, that game could go on 'until Thy Kingdom come O Lord', but let's spend our energy in productive ways.

This is a mere suggestion to the Negril Chamber of Commerce - why not canvass the businesses in Negril, those who make millions of dollars off tourism every year, for donations to purchase the necessary items that you need for the health services? The Government could then match those donations so that Westmoreland's health care needs could also be addressed.

I am, etc.,
