TRACE ANTHONY Williams and Kerry-Ann Collette Coombs' friendship blossomed into love and they were united in marriage on Tuesday, December 27. This was witnessed by a large gathering of friends and close relatives.
The ceremony took place at Calvary Missionary Church in Morant Bay St. Thomas. Officiating minister was Rev. Roger Kirby.
The bride was escorted by her grandfather, Collin Coombs half way down the aisle and then her grandmother Beryl Sutherland took over. When the pastor asked, "Who give this woman away to be married?" they replied in unison "We do." This brought laughter from the congregation.
The reception was held at Morant Villas. Williams and Coombs first met at the supermarket some years ago then in 1997 when he was converted and needed Christian counselling, Coombs became his confidant. From this their friendship grew.
"But in 2001 I realised that his smile meant a lot and he too was different from the other persons I met at university," she said.
"I like her body and her personality. She is friendly and open-minded. She was the first female with whom I felt comfortable sharing everything," said Williams of his new wife.
They honeymooned at Golden Seas in St. Mary. They are both teachers and are looking forward to enjoying happy years together.
