Simply breathtaking!

DAVID WONG-KEN, we just want to say thank you!

This man's place, 'Solaris', Twelve Miles, St. Thomas, was the venue for Red Stripe's media appreciation party last week Sunday. The view of the Caribbean Sea below the Mar-Bella Estate residence was breathtaking and everyone simply had to ask how Red Stripe found the place!

Dubbed the 'Media-terrain-ian' by MC Gareth Geddes, there was indeed a Mediterranean feel to the proceedings; from the view to the sand and 'jewels' and gold coins at the centre of every table.

Red Stripe's Paul Albert and Paul Campbell provided the music at the beginning, keeping the audience entertained while they snacked on vegetable soup and other appetisers or perused the art on sale before having lunch, catered by Ciao Bella Caterers.

There were, of course, many prizes for guests to win like the 'facts and trivia' segment, which tested the media people's knowledge. The most enjoyable, however, was the treasure hunt where each item you found, earned you points. It was nothing short of comical to see persons moving up and down the venue in search of articles like shoelaces, the letter B from a Scrabble game, the ID of a Red Stripe employee and red shoes (which left a few ladies shoeless for a while). Teams even got points for any member who could do the best impersonation of Francois St. Juste's morning wake up call.

Dean Fraser was the man! He started with I Believe In You And Me before heading into other old and new classics. Red Stripe is obviously full of talent and some of their lovely ladies strut their stuff around the gathering in fashion from Elan. The photographers had a field day!

But before Fraser even took the mini-stage, the Red Stripe Chorale enthralled the audience with some lovely Christmas music including Little Drummer Boy and One Day at Christmas.

All guests, other than the lucky winners, walked away with Red Stripe emblazoned wind-breakers, perfect for the chilly season.
