The Editor, Sir
What is particularly irksome about the ICHS student crucifixion squad is that these were quite likely the same ones who were calling for the explusion of the controversial quintet dubbed the 'Munro 5', now long forgot.
What these myopic persons fail to realise is that an institution cannot punish a student twice for the same offence. This is the very reason that the 'Munro 5' could not have been expelled after they had already been suspended.
Now get over it and move on!
As repugnant as the situation was, worse things happen daily. Think back to Dunoon students beating a fellow student to near death, on the advice of the victim's father, and going as far as stoning intervening policemen and damaging police cars! These students were given a nonsensically comedic 'stern talk' - obviously because of the reluctance of the police to admonish the frenzied homophobia of the students.
We live in a sick country, spit in drinking water (which may I add should not be in the classroom to begin with) is the least of our problems, especially within the ambit of the education system. If this was not ICHS no one would care. I know this, because I am a proud graduate of the other "best school in the island".
I am, etc.,
