THE EDITOR, Sir:
WITH REFERENCE to the little seven-year-old girl who was cunningly lured away from the protection of her mother, raped and murdered, I am calling on the powers that be to do the following:
Go for the death penalty and have the guts to carry it out.
Find out the background of this predator. Who is he? Where does he come from? Does he have a history of molesting children?
Change the law so that communities will be told if there is a sexual molester living in their midst.
Start treating the death penalty as a punishment for those who kill and stop treating it like something that was put in place to deter. Punishment is punishment and we have long permitted the most brutal of murderers to continue to live, while families and friends continue to be devastated forever.
And, to the parents and guardians of children, do not let them out of your sight.
