published: Sunday | November 14, 2004

THE BODY of an unidentified man was found with a gunshot wound in Terrier Town, Denbigh, Clarendon yesterday morning.

The dead man, who is believed to be in his early twenties, is of dark complexion, slim build, about 170.18 centimetres (5 ft 7in) tall and was clad in short blue jeans pants, a red T-shirt and a pair of brown sneakers.

The May Pen police is investigating.

Also in Clarendon, a 41-year-old man was shot dead and a 51-year-old woman shot and injured during a robbery at a shop at Crooked River district last Friday night.

The woman and Mr. Brown attempted to run and the gunmen opened fire hitting them before escaping with $3,300 in cash. Both injured persons were taken to hospital where Brown was pronounced dead and the woman admitted in serious but stable condition.

The Chapelton Police are investigating.

And in Kingston, Noel Douglas, 37, a carpenter of Gold Smith Villa, Kingston 7 succumbed to gunshot wounds at the University Hospital last Friday.

ESCAPE FROM KPH

Meanwhile, the police are now searching for Gary Clarke, 23, a prisoner who escaped from the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) yesterday afternoon. He was admitted under guard after he was shot and injured in a shoot-out with the police on Friday night.

Clarke, of Chester Avenue, Spanish Town and Kingston 11 addresses, reportedly asked the police on guard permission to go to the bathroom where he remained for a prolonged period.

The police went to investigate and was pushed aside on reaching the door.

Clarke had been arrested and charged for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, shooting with intent and robbery with aggravation.
