CMC:
XAVIER MARSHALL, who opened the batting for Young West Indies at this year' ICC Youth World Cup in Bangladesh, is listed among five new players in the Jamaica squad for the West Indies limited-overs cricket championship, starting on October 16.
Marshall, along with fellow batsmen Tamar Lambert and Danza Hyatt, both of whom made their regional first-class debut earlier this year, as well as fast bowler Dwight Washington and left-arm spin bowler Nikita Miller, were all named in the 14-member squad.
Marshall, who was the top batsman in West Indies youth championship during the summer, was the most prolific batsman in the trial series with 263 runs at an average of 43.83.
Lambert, a stocky right-hander, batted well at number four in the regional four-day competition earlier this year, but never made it into the limited-overs team.

Hyatt was the next best scorer with 258 runs at an average of 51.60, while surprise pick Miller, a product of St. Elizabeth Technical High School and Melbourne, was the most economical bowler - going for 205 runs in 58 overs at 3.53 apiece - in the recent trials.
Washington represented West Indies B Team earlier this year in the four-day competition and was a part of the West Indies training squad prior to the English tour.
