Tough task for United General
published: Tuesday | October 5, 2004

Paul-Andre Walker, Staff Reporter

A FULL slate of games and hopefully a rescheduled game will be on tomorrow at the Leila Robinson courts with the Business House Netball Association's divisional League's coming down towards its end.

In the Intermediate 'A' League, United General Insurance (UGI), who have found themselves tied for third place in Group 'A' on nine points with the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) behind Jamaica Public Service (JPS), and ICD (15 points from five games), will have to ensure that they get by Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) in order to stay in contention, especially since they have played one more game than the JUTC. That game is to be played at 6:30 p.m.

In Group 'B', HEART, who have raced to the top of the standings with 18 points from six games, have Minott behind them on 13 points from seven games. They have a chance to improve on this lead when they take on NEM Insurance.

SHELL VS NWC

In the Intermediate 'B' League, Shell will match-up against the National Water Commission (NWC), who are poised on four points from five games. Shell should come out on top because they have garnered 12 points from six games and look to be a better squad.

In the Junior League, Life of Jamaica (LoJ) have driven to 12 points from four games, closely chased by National Continental Bakery, who also have 12 points but have played one more game. They have a chance to stretch the slim advantage they have today when they take on Pan Caribbean, who are the bottom feeders in the group.

There will also be an attempt to hold a rescheduled Senior League game between General Accident and the Bank of Nova Scotia 'A' (BNS), if time permits. General Accident are tied on 12 points with BNS 'A'. Both teams have played four games and come tomorrow, only one team will remain.

The other games on tomorrow are: Port Authority versus Digicel, National Housing Development Corporation and National Continental Baking Company, Shell Company play against NWC 'B', and NCB play against Air Jamaica.
