Frank Grandison, man of visions

Grandison

WESTERN BUREAU:
He describes them as strange and mysterious, but the voices, dreams and visions being heard and experienced by Frank Anthony Grandison are as real as daylight. And he firmly believes it is all the work of God.

Formerly from Clarendon, Grandison remembers distinctly the first time that he heard the mysterious voice. It was December 2, 1982 while boarding a flight to London where he lived at that time. When he got to his assigned seat he suddenly heard a voice right over his head saying, "I am the Lord, your God who created you and gave you life. Please don't sit on that seat." Then he said he saw the shadow of a man behind his assigned seat. The shadow kicked the seat and it snapped forward. He was given another seat and he was cold, numb and frightened for the rest of the trip.

Not long after that peculiar episode, Grandison heard the voice again. He said he had just come from a jogging exercise and he decided to sit on the gate column in his yard. Again he heard the voice, this time somewhere inside him saying, "I am Jesus Christ, look up and tell me what you see." More curious than frightened, he asked who was speaking to him. The voice repeated what was earlier said. He looked up and saw only stars. He decided to test who was speaking to him. He pointed to a star and said, "If you are Jesus Christ, move that star I am pointing at." Suddenly the star fell towards earth, leaving a trail of light behind it. "I ran into the house and out of fright I wet myself," he recounted to the Religion Feature.

Convinced that he was going insane, he went to visit a psychiatrist but tests made on him came back negative. And so after the experience on the gate column, Grandison who grew up a Methodist but never really believed in God, became a firm believer. Since then he has been hearing the voice and having dreams and visions, sometimes twice a day. In March 1997, he began putting on paper what the voice was saying to him. He said to date he has over 600 pages, both typed and hand-written. He hopes to publish them some day.

Grandison, who now lives in Montego Bay after moving from England, is sure that the voice he is hearing is God's voice. "This garden (earth) created by God is coming to an end," he said. "I believe God is informing me of what is going to happen."
