THE EDITOR, Sir:
THIS IS a small matter; but, admittedly, it is small matters which make big impressions. Sometime in June, I had reason to engage the services of a courier service. Though the document was registered as a same-day delivery and appropriately charged as such, I received it on the third day after its dispatch.
In addition, when I called the Ocho Rios office to enquire about the delay, I reconfirmed my delivery address and managed to negotiate only a $20 discount (Jamaica dollars - not US$!) for my troubles (the document was required abroad, two days before I received it).
After all this, the document was sent to another address, and the person there (who knows me) was charged the full amount. This transaction was done by none other than the Ocho Rios supervisor!
I complained to two managers at the Tinson Pen headquarters through four separate phone calls. A promise, to reimburse me the full amount of the transaction, made since June 18, is yet to be fulfilled. I would have expected more of a company that includes the word 'express' in its name.
I am etc.,
