Proud of the relay team

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I TAKE great pleasure in writing this letter sending out a big CONGRATS to our 'Ladies of Gold'. We should all take pride and enjoy the moment and the precious feeling that these four ladies are letting us feel in this time.

I live in Ontario, Canada and I always root for my fellow Jamaicans whenever they are competing in any form of sports or any event for that matter and I have been watching the progression of our Jamaican competitors in the Grand Prix events leading up to the World Championships and believe me I am very proud of Lorraine, Deon, Debbie, Sandie, Deloreen and the others and to get the justification we needed it came in the finishing moments of the World Champs and I am very happy.

Someday the men will get what they deserve and show the mighty Americans that for a small country we mean business and we are here to stay.

I am etc.,
